Oceanside

We thought we could get a good fish dinner at the restaurant at the end of the Oceanside pier, we were wrong. It was a 1950’s era burger joint. There was a nice photo opportunity of a Light House or Chimney top sticking out about the fog sevreal miles away. One of those once in a life time shots, well it failed. My shots from iPhone X came out pixelated and noisy.

To the far left is a dredging ship that is being used to rebuild the beach. Notice the pipes on the right. The dark colored sand is what has been dredged. If we were not in CA and the sand was not black, the sand could be Georgia clay mixed with sand. The more you walk on it, the more it collects and you end up with layer upon lay on the bottom of your feet – you are now about 5 feet taller.

We hit a great open air event. Lots of bikes for a 25K Race. Those Californians sure like to exert themselves. They had a live band and the bleachers were built into the seawall. Cool!
