Cate’s brother and sister-in-law have a residence on Maui, so we always have a home base in Hawaii. This allows us to travel to the other islands like the Big Island Hawaii and visit Hawai Volcanoes National Park. Two active volcanoes are tourist attractions and we play tourist every chance we get. We took the tour to the Crater Rim Drive with a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide. Not only did we see the red hot lava inside the caldron, we visited the Jaggar Museum, which features volcanology exhibits and a viewpoint overlooking Halema’uma’u Crater.
